    On 03/27/2024 at approximately 0108 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Seldon Road and Tait Road in Wasilla. Investigation led to the arrest of Joshua Curtis, age 40 of Wasilla, for Probation Violation. Further, Rebekah Hershman age 32 of Palmer, was arrested for an arrest warrant for Fail to Appear on the original charge of MICS V. Both were remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Curtis was held without bail and Hershman was held on $250.

    On March 27, 2024 at approximately 1402 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received the report of a domestic disturbance at a residence off E Cottrell Campus Drive. AST responded, where investigation resulted in the arrest of Aaron Ennis, age 47 of Palmer. Aaron was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial on one count of DV Criminal Mischief IV. His bail was set to no bail and alcohol is a factor.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/27/2024 at approximately 0656 hours, Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop on a dark Toyota 4 door sedan near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Cowles St. The driver, later identified as Robert Springer (52) of Fairbanks provided false information to the Troopers. Investigation revealed that Robert was operating a motor vehicle in a canceled license and was also in violation of driver license restrictions. Robert was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    On March 26, 2024 Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary that occurred within the past 16 hours in the Tok area. Items stolen included airsoft guns and airsoft armor, Dewalt and other power tools, and an assortment of items.

    Type: Petition to Revoke Probation

    On 03/27/2024 at approximately 1553 hours, Alaska State Troopers (AST) in Tok received a walk-in visitor, Josh L. Lingle. Lingle was requesting to be fingerprinted due to not being able to provide any other forms of identification to the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) office. Investigation revealed, Lingle is currently on probation, and he’d missed his mandatory appointment on 03/26/2024. Kenai Probation’s office was contacted, and they requested for Lingle to be remanded on Petition to Revoke Probation. Lingle was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

    UPDATE:

    On March 26, 2024, Downing pled guilty to the charges of Failure to Salvage All Edible Meat, Removing the Antlers from the Kill Site Before All Edible Meat, and Removing the Meat from the Bone of a Hind Quarter prior to October 1st. He was fined $1,500, $1,000 restitution, and a $500 donation to the Wildlife Safeguard. The antlers were forfeited to the state.

    ORIGINAL:

    On September 20, 2023, AWT Bethel received a report of an unsalvaged moose in GMU 18, near Saint Mary's. Further investigation revealed Monte Downing, age 71 of California, shot a 64" bull moose on September 17, 2023, and failed to salvage all edible meat, including parts of one backstrap, one hind quarter, one front quarter, the neck, the brisket, and the ribs. It was also revealed Downing transported the antlers prior to the meat, and he cut the meat off the bone of one hind quarter. Downing was issued citations for Failure to Salvage All Edible Meat, Removing the Antlers from the Kill Site Before All Edible Meat, and Removing the Meat from the Bone of a Hind Quarter prior to October 1st. The antlers were seized as evidence of the crime. The meat was donated in Bethel. Arraignment is set for November 2, 2023, in the Bethel Court.
